Studio Downstairs: A Working Art Studio & Therapeutic Community

About Us

Studio Downstairs is a special project of CREATE Arts Center. Studio Downstairs is a community for the arts, where adults who might otherwise be too vulnerable to attend school or vocational programs, can meet in a non-institutional setting and where the making of art is linked to the therapeutic process of feeling more alive and social.

Studio members may have experienced emotional distress, but here there is no stigma of mental or physical illness and the artwork is taken seriously. At Studio Downstairs, we believe that art is a powerful means of communication and healing.

Studio Downstairs is led by Sally Brucker, ATR, ACSW, LPC and meets on Mondays & Wednesdays from 11am – 2pm. New members are always welcome.
