Volunteer

Looking for a new and exciting way to lend a hand in the community? Need community service hours for your school? Join our team of volunteers, counselors in training (CIT’s), and interns at CREATE Arts Center!

Volunteers – Positions available for non-campers, ages 15 and up. All candidates must submit a resume with at least 2 references, fill out an application, and complete the interview and orientation process.

Camps & Classes

  • Assist teachers with classroom management
  • Help students with artwork
  • Gather and pass out supplies, organize art materials
  • Supervise lunch, picnics and snack
  • Organize fun games during breaks and recess
  • Lead art activities during After Care (3:00-6:00pm), manage parent sign-outs and pickup

Marketing & Events

  • Attend local art festivals, school fundraisers and fairs
  • Greet table visitors, hand out flyers and spread the word about CREATE
  • Help teachers with off-site art projects, organization, set-up and clean-up
  • Distribute flyers to local schools, restaurants and shops
  • Help organize and participate in local art shows
  • Take photographs and create postings for our blog

Counselor in Training (CIT) – Teens enrolled in art camp, 13-14 years of age.

CIT positions offer youth the opportunity to:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Assist art teachers with daily activities
  • Assist campers with art projects
  • Build interpersonal relationships with campers and staff
  • Set a good example for campers through sharing, cleaning up, following directions, listening, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Enhance the campers experience at Create, by leading games during recess

CIT rate for 2-week art camp: $430.00
CIT rate for 1-week art camp: $215.00

 

High School Senior Internships – Complete your community service requirements, or earn the credit hours needed to graduate high school at CREATE.

Due to limited space, we can only accept 2 interns per school year. Have your internship coordinator contact us to make arrangements.
